Imprint Methods
Listed below are common definitions of industry imprint methods, and what they mean. If you still have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Laser Engraving
At AblePromotional.com, we now provide you with multiple engraving options for many of our items. For the first time, your logo can be engraved with a clear, smooth and polished look in 6 distinct finishes on mugs, tools, kitchenware, pens, flashlights and many other items, all available in our 5 Day Production Service.
Here's a list of what types of Laser Engraving is available.
Standard Laser: A clean, permanent image of your logo available on all Stainless Steel and metal items.
Two-Tone Laser: A new twist that creates an outline around the logo. Available on Stainless Steel items only.
Laser Outline: A simple outline of your logo. Available on Stainless Steel items only.
Laser Oxidation: Oxidation enhances your engraved logo with a permanent, blackened image. We strongly recommend oxidation on many of our writing instruments. Oxidation is available on Stainless Steel Items.
Laser On Aluminum: Your logo will have a very light (sometimes white) appearance due to the natural material. A very clean depiction of your logo is given.
Laser On Wood: Usually a deeper burn that has a varied appearance depending on the type of wood engraved.
Laser Engraving Personalization:
Personalization is available on laser engraved products and is limited to a maximum of 21 characters (including spaces). Add $5.00 / set of initials or names. Available fonts are listed below and must be listed on your order. If not indicated, laser style will default to Times Roman. Please allow extra 10 days for Personalization orders.
Pad Printing
Your corporate message is etched into a plate where ink is then applied. A soft silicone pad is pressed down onto the plate then reapplies the image directly to the product. Advantages include image detail, excellent registration of color and ability to print contoured and textured surfaces.
Silk Screen
Your corporate message is applied directly onto the products' surface by pushing ink through a fine mesh screen. This is a cost effective process with excellent visibility.
GeoPanel
GeoPanel is a new and exciting breakthrough in transfer technology, exlusive to Starline. It allows:
- Up to 4-color process imprint (unlimited colors)
- One set-up charge
- Quick Production Time
GeoPanel is offered as a standard imprint on the majority of our bags, allowing for an impressive, multi-coloured, value-added impression, at no extra cost on even the most inexpensive bags! Using a unique printing process, your logo is transferred using heat and pressure directly onto the product.
GeoPanel requires any geometric shape, such as a circle, square or rectangle with a background. It is recommended that your background color be different from the color of the product. A white background will be the default unless otherwise specified. Unless a bleed is specified on your order (available only on uncomplicated, common geometric shapes) an approximate 1/8" white border will surround your image.
A GeoPanel's ad area is up to 21 square inches. Squares and Rectangles have maximum size 4 1/2"h x 4 1/5"w or 3"h x 7"w or 7"h x 3"w. Circles and Ovals have maximum diameter 7".
Digital Laminate Panel
This process enables you to create a permanent imprint that is UV protected and water resistant. Your corporate message is digitally printed in high resolution on specialized vinyl material. It is then bonded to a polycarbonate laminate, die cut, and affixed to the product.
A one-time setup-up charge includes up to 4-color process on any background (unless specified, white background will be the default color) or a standard one color imprint on brushed silver (aluminum finish), bright silver, brushed gold (brass finish) or bright gold finish.
PermaPatch
Starline offers PermaPatch service. This process provides a permanent imprint that is UV protected and water resistant. The logo is high resolution and digitally printed on a vinyl material. It is then bonded to a polycarbonate laminate and affixed to a moulded rubber base. The rubber base is permanently bonded to the product. PermaPatch includes up to 4-color imprint on any background (unless otherwise specified, white background will be the default color) or a standard one color imprint on brushed silver (aluminum finish), bright silver, brushed gold (brass finish) or bright gold finish. There are small and large patches and limits apply in some cases:
Pewter Medallions
Available on all of our metal base beverage ware or add-on to many of our metal or wood packaging options. These custom crafted, two dimensional medallions are made from 97% fine pewter and are 100% lead free. Medallions are available in natural or copper finishes.

Includes one pewter medallion on one location. Please specify matte silver or copper finish.

Sizes:
Up to 1 1/2 sq. inches. Sizes may vary due to the nature of the logo and the curvature of the product. Please call for more information.

Spec Sample/Product Proof:

Production Time:
4 to 5 weeks.
Note:
Unless specified, medallions will be affixed to inboard side (right-handed) of mugs. The medallion charge will be added to the product cost.
Embroidery
Embroidery is a traditional method of decoration on fabric material that provides an elegant presentation of your corporate message. Your logo is digitized (term to describe the programming of the machine) and then stitched directly onto the product. Pricing includes up to 7 standard colors, although additional charges do apply.
Lead Time: 2-3 weeks.
Minimum Quantities: Based on catalog item quantity minimums.
